Introduction
At Extrica, we are removing the barrier of Article Processing Charges (APC) from corresponding authors based in low- and middle- income countries nominated by Research4Life (Group A and B) for journals that APC’s are required. The waivers will ensure authors in these countries can publish their work as Open Access without the requirement to pay an APC.
APC Waivers and Discounts Policy
APC Waivers and Discounts Policy:
- Full Waiver (100% of APC waived): Eligible if the corresponding author and all co-authors are affiliated with institutions in Group A countries.
- 50% APC Discount: Available when the corresponding author and all co-authors are from Group B country institutions.
- 50% APC Discount: Applicable if the authorship team is a mix of individuals from Group A and Group B countries.
- No Waiver or Discount: When there is a combination of authors from non-eligible countries outside the Research4Life program and those from Group A or B countries, no waiver or discount applies.

How to apply for waivers
Authors from eligible Research4Life countries will receive their discounts or waivers automatically based on their location in case of acceptance of their article. No additional application is required.
